Yuma is a fantasy story inspired by the indigenous cultures of Taiwan. Our main character, Yuma, wants to become a village warrior, tasked with protecting their mountain village from the evil forest spirits who roam the land. She hopes to one day earn a face tattoo of her own, a sign of honor and respect in her culture, but as far as her village is concerned, the only way to do that is with house work and chores. Armed with a free spirit, a brave heart, and a quiver of arrows, Yuma sneaks away from her duties and secretly follows the village warriors to learn what they face in the forest. Will she face the supernatural enemies of her people and become a honored warrior, or will she learn that there is more to being a part of the village than protecting it from a mythical force.
